In these early months, babies begin exploring the world through sight, touch, and sound. Our toys encourage visual tracking, gentle grasping, and auditory responses, helping newborns develop foundational sensory and motor skills.
This month, you and your baby will explore:
Vision
Newborns can only see about 8-12. inches away. While their vision will sharpen as they grow, large shapes and patterns in high-contrast colors fascinate them in the meantime.
Hearing
At first, your baby is startled by loud noises but is soothed by soft sounds. As their neck muscles strengthen, they’ll turn their head when you speak or sing, smiling in response.
Communication
It’s not about what you say, just how it sounds! Talking or singing to your baby in these early months is vital because perception, awareness, and memory are closely linked to the brain’s language center.
Hand-To-Hand
Passing an object between your hands is automatic — but not for your baby. It requires using many skills at once, like tracking, hand-eye coordination, directed grasping, and more. It will be a few months before this gets more fluid.
Cause And Effect
Studies show that babies as young as 2 months understand the basics of cause and effect. Your baby gets little lessons in this every time you interact, observing your reactions to their coos and cries.
